Tajul Islam, a Bangladeshi national, was stabbed to death at 9.30 PM on Monday by unknown assailants at Gulail district here. “The killers entered the victim's room and stabbed him in the neck and abdomen,” said a witness who asked not to be named. “Islam ran out to the nearest shop and requested help, but, unfortunately, people were afraid to come to his assistance before the arrival of the police,” he said. Islam, who was from Village Kabiral Krishnapur of Kotwali Comilla district of Bangladesh, died from loss of blood before the police arrived. “The body of Islam is being kept in King Abdul Aziz Hospital and the matter is under investigation,” Aftab Pramanic, Assistant Labor consul (Finance Secretary) of the Bangladesh Consulate, Jeddah, told Saudi Gazette. “We are expecting to be informed of further developments by the police within three to four days. The murderer or murderers have not yet been identified,” Pramanic added. The police have arrested five Bangladeshis from the area. However, no one has confessed to having had anything to do with the murder.
