The Yemeni victim of a serial pickpocket helped police set up a sting to catch a man who had preyed on numerous fellow bus passengers in the Al-Balad District here. The pickpocket, reportedly of Chadian nationality, would steal identity documents from bus passengers and later call them demanding sums of several thousand riyals for their return. When a Yemeni man had his identity papers stolen he informed the police, and upon receiving a call from the Chadian man set up a meeting, purportedly to pay the man's ransom demands, in which the police put an end to the individual's activities.
