Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minster and Minister of Interior, launched a package of developmental projects worth SR1.6 billion at Imam Muhammed Bin Saud Islamic University here on Monday. Prince Naif opened the projects on the sideline of his patronage the inauguration of a two-day forum on community partnership in scientific research field. The forum is being organized by the Scientific Research Deanship and Chairs Research Program at the university. Addressing the forum, Prince Naif said great care to science and knowledge given by the Kingdom stems from the Islamic principles on which the country is based. The Kingdom, Prince Naif said, looks at science as the core for the country's progress and development. Prince Naif said allocation of huge funds for higher education and scientific research projects proves the importance the King attaches to science and technology for the development of the country. Apart from this, he said, the government encourages research partnership at local and international levels aiming to localize the expertise and benefit from the results of the scientific research in various aspects. He also lauded the initiatives for boosting the scientific research in the country by financially supporting the scientific research chairs in the Kingdom's different universities. Prince Naif also honored the financers of the research chairs in the universities.
