The body of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who died in Riyadh six months ago will be flown back home on Monday, his family in the Philippines said Sunday. Emy Pepito, one of three OFWs whose corpses have not be repatriated, died in on Nov. 12, 2008, the group Migrante International said. Migrante said Sunday Pepito died in Riyadh but Consul Rousel Reyes at the Philippine embassy in Riyadh said Pepito was based in Jeddah. Consul Tito L. Ausan Jr. at the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah confirmed that Pepito's remains would be repatriated but advised Kabayan to call up Vice Consul Lorenzo Jungco. Jungco said Pepito's body was scheduled to be flown on Monday and that Pepito's employer has arrange the repatraition of the body. “We are still waiting for the flight details so we can send these to Manila,” he said. “Under the contract, its the employers responsibility. Our role here is to assist,.” The remains of two other OFWs - Eduardo Reyes and Marilou Macam - have to be repatriated yet. Reyes, a construction worker, was buried in sand mixed with asphalt in a foundation of a building in Riyadh, earlier reports said. Migrante said Reyes died March 6 while Macam, from Pangasinan, died in Jeddah on Nov. 23, 2008. The body of Pepito was scheduled to be flown Monday on a Saudia Airlines flight. He hailed from Ozamis City on Mindanao Island. Charito Pepito, sister of Emy, said Philippine diplomatic officials in Saudi Arabia had made arrangements with the Saudi government for the repatriation of the body. The family, along with the mother, will meet Emy Pepito's remains at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Migrante said. From the NAIA, the body will be taken on a connecting flight to Ozamis City, where the remains will be buried. Migrante said the family is again worried on how to give Emy Pepito a decent burial because the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) could not release his P120,000 burial benefits. Charito has told Migrante that her brother was married but had long been separated. His wife, who is listed as his beneficiary in OWWA records, could not be found, said Gary Martinez, Migrante spokesman.
