The driver of a vehicle who claimed that his four family companions were members of his family raised the suspicions of checkpoint police when he failed to produce any documentation. When his vehicle was checked by officers it was found to contain over 600 bundles of qat. His three companions, who he reportedly used in his smuggling activities to exploit a police reluctance to search vehicles with female passengers, turned out to be of African nationalities.
