six residents of Al-Ummrah District here have filed a lawsuit at the Board of Grievances against the mayoralty for ordering the removal of a main street constructed 20 years ago. The residents petitioned that the street was included in the title deeds of some residents whose buildings overlook the street. Abdul Salm Mashat, Deputy Mayor for Service Affairs, said officials concerned had referred the issue to the survey department at the mayoralty to provide the court with necessary documents. The complainants allegedly said a mayoralty official had split the 20 meter long and 60 meter wide street into two with its value estimated at a million riyal. The residents have also sought the intervention of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs on the issue.
