Under the patronage of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah Region, and with the support of Prince Misha'l Bin Majed, Governor of Jeddah, the three-day 2nd Arab Gulf Forum for Training opens here Saturday at the Laylati Hall for Events.
The training forum, organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a group of commercial innovators, is being held under the theme “Industry training: Indigenization of creativity.”
The aim of the forum is to provide participants with the appropriate tools and scientific methods to improve the standard of training in the Gulf region through knowledge of how to apply integrated training systems.
Dr. Mohammed Darwaih Salama, secretary general of the forum, told a press conference on Wednesday at the JCCI that there was an urgent need to upgrade training in the Arabian Gulf region for the public and private sectors in order to improve the quality of service and maintain outstanding staff.
To that end, the forum will feature workshops and practical exercises conducted by international experts and specialists in training and human resource development, he explained.
“The forum seeks to provide participants with tools and practical methods for upgrading the effectiveness of training in an organization through the knowledge of how to apply integrated training systems,” he said. “This will help to identify the ways and means to analyze training needs, to plan and manage training programs, and to evaluate and measure the return on the investment in training,” Salama added.
Among the international experts participating in the training forum are Dr. Tariq Mohammed Al-Sweidan, president of the advisors council for Gulf inventions from Kuwait; Dr. Tony Bonzan, an expert in the science of brain mapping from Britain; Dr. Ali Mohammed Abu Al-Hassan, professor of intellectual development at the Institute of Business Administration from Saudi Arabia; Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Haar, general manager of Al-Jazira center for training and development from Qatar; Dr. Khalid Al-Seheem, general manager of human resources development at Saudi Telecommunication from Saudi Arabia; and Dr. Alwi Aterjee, former general manager of premium American board in the Gulf from Canada.
