Two brothers were involved in a high-speed pursuit on Tuesday as one of them attempted to kidnap his sister's infant daughter. The man, who reportedly suffers from mental disturbances and was in the possession of an air-rifle, made off with the 18-month child after a visit to the family home and headed for the town of Sakaka, where his brother caught up with him in a light collision of vehicles. A traffic policeman subsequently intervened to disarm the man and take the child from him. A police spokesman said the man was taken away to a center for the mentally ill.
