Prince Mite'b Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Vice President of the National Guard for Military Affairs, on Monday inaugurated several projects at King Abdul Aziz Medical City in Jeddah. The modernization project on radiotherapy provides the latest advanced technology for treating tumors of various types, Dr. Bandar Al-Qenawy, Executive General Manager of the National Guard Health Affairs said. The medical equipment, he said, can detect the disease in early stages. They also provide the highest level of confidence to the patient by identifying the disease leading to early diagnosis, thus increasing the possibility of therapeutic medical intervention. The chemotherapy unit has been expanded by increasing the number of treatment rooms to provide advanced medical devices, he said. Several sections have also been added in the dental care department and operation rooms for children. “We have provided five dental clinics and a provision for digital imaging devices, in addition to all medical services related to dental surgery,” said Dr. Al-Qenawy. He added that the burns unit has been equipped with tools of the latest international standard, and will have five rooms for patients.
