A free medical camp for Pakistani expatriates has been opened in the Western Region. The free medical camp, inaugurated by Zaigham Uddin Azam, Pakistani Consul General, is part of the welfare program of the consulate to extend medical help to the poor and the needy. The free medical camp opened in Al-Baha city has started functioning since Friday. Five local doctors have volunteered their services and the sick will be given free medicines. Other amenities to the sick are also being arranged in the camp, said Muhammad Jamil, Press consul. Under its welfare program the consulate also helps the Pakistani prisoners. This help is extended to the prisoners under the prevailing legal system. The welfare wing of the consulate also follows the cases lodged by aggrieved Pakistanis against their sponsors, Jamil told Saudi Gazette. He said the consulate also makes arrangements to transfer the dead body of any Pakistani expatriate and bears all its cost including ticket fare for those accompanying the dead expatiate. The consulate, he said, also pays medical bill of the dead. The consulate, in cooperation with the Saudi Passports Department arranges out-passes for those who are deported from the Kingdom.
