Hilal lifted Al-Nokhbah Volleyball Cup beating Al-Ahli 3-1 here on Friday. Eight-time winner Al-Hilal had a perfect start that helped it seal the first set 25-19. Al-Hilal players continued to press forward in the second set while the home side tried to take control of the match but failed as the visitors sealed the set 28-26. The third set saw Al-Ahli win 25-18 but Al-Hilal came back to win the fourth 25-20 thanks to the efforts of Yasser Al-Makawni, Naif Bou Hasson and Ahmed Al-Bakhait. Mohammed Mufti, head of the Saudi Volleyball Federation, handed over the Cup and the gold medals to Al-Hilal players. Al-Ahli took the silver medals while Al-Ittifaq, which also won 3-1, took the bronze medals. The trophy is the fourth for Al-Hilal in he season after it pocketed the Saudi Volleyball League title, Prince Faisal Cup and the 27th Arab Volleyball Championship, held in Lebanon. The four top teams in the League participated in the Al-Nokhbah competition which was played on round robin basis at the Indoor Hall of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare (GPYW) stadium in Jeddah.
