Held for the second time, it was inaugurated by Prince Sattam Bin Abdul Aziz, the acting governor of Riyadh. The HANCO team was led by Fahim Saulat, general manager for Operations, Central Region. Participating from HANCO's head office was Faisal Rasheed, general manager for Operations, Western Region and Ghazanfar Ali Khan, assistant general manager from Al-Khobar region. The event provided HANCO with unique prospects to branch into new and lucrative markets. It provided a platform to meet and network with potential business partners who are directly linked to the tourism industry in the Kingdom. In addition to giving HANCO the chance to directly interact with organizations linked to the tourism industry, several workshops and panel discussions were held which focused on the role of tourism in the development and growth of the economy. The discussions equipped the participants with the necessary technical know-how and knowledge of how to expand into the tourism industry. STTIM 2009 highlighted the importance of the travel and tourism sector to the Kingdom's economy and future plans.
