A Saudi woman has accused a public hospital here of failing to reveal the medical results of her recently employed housemaid suspected of being infected with the HIV virus. Umm Mohammad said that the maid was hired through a recruitment office three months ago and her residency Iqama permit was issued following medical tests which showed that employee had an unidentified virus. The hospital initially refused to disclose the nature of the virus when her husband demanded information, but, according to Umm Mohammed, later revealed verbally that the woman was infected with the HIV virus. The hospital, Umm Mohammad said, has refused to provide the written medical test results required to enable her to seek deportation of the woman via the recruitment office. A hospital official said that the results had not been provided as not all laboratory tests had been completed. Umm Mohammed is now concerned for the health of her family and says that the woman she employed has been placed in isolation in a room at the family home.
