The Rangers trailed for 18 seconds in the first period before scoring four straight times and holding on for a victory that ended the best-of-seven series in five games. New Jersey missed a penalty that would have tied the game at 4-4 with 7:08 left. Never before had a team won three road games against New Jersey in a playoff series. Ducks 5, Stars 2: In Anaheim, California, Teemu Selanne, Ryan Getzlaf and Sean O'Donnell each had a goal and an assist for Anaheim to trim Dallas' lead in the first-round series to 3-2. Game 6 is Sunday in Dallas. A seventh game would be in Anaheim on Tuesday. The defending Stanley Cup champion Ducks, on the brink of going home for the season, scored three times in the third period to break open a tight, physical game. Red Wings 2, Predators 1, OT: In Detroit, Johan Franzen scored 1:48 into overtime, lifting Detroit over Nashville and into a 3-2 lead in its first-round series. The NHL's best team this season was less than a minute from winning in regulation, but Nashville's late equalizer forced overtime. Game 6 in the best-of-seven series is Sunday in Nashville. Vokoun to miss event Czech ice hockey keeper Tomas Vokoun has been forbidden by his club from taking part in next month's World Championships in Canada, the Czech national trainer said on Saturday. Vokoun has been suffering from a strained hernia since close of the regular NHL Season with his club, Florida Panthers. In spite of his injury he wanted to postpone an operation and start in the world championships. But trainer Alois Hadamczik said: “Doctors have recommended an immediate operation and his club will not allow him to start in the (world) championships.” __
