time goal gave Villarreal a 3-3 draw at Barcelona to keep the host from winning the Spanish league title on Sunday. Barcelona was leading 3-1 after first-half goals by Seydou Keita, Samuel Eto'o and Daniel Alves, leading to premature chants of “Champions” from Barcelona supporters at Camp Nou stadium. However, Villarreal scored a second goal with 13 minutes remaining – a penalty by Mati Fernandez, which led to the dismissal of Barcelona defender Eric Abidal. Llorente, who had also scored Villareal's opening goal, silenced the crowd and kept the celebrations on ice when he swivelled and fired the visitors' late equalizer. Eight points clear of Real Madrid with three rounds remaining, Barcelona hopes to clinch the title next Sunday when it visits Mallorca. Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola compared Llorente's goal on Sunday with Andres Iniesta's last-gasp equalizer against Chelsea last Wednesday which secured Barcelona a passage into the Champions League final. “A few days ago we did it and today it's been done to us. At Stamford Bridge it was Iniesta and today it has been Llorente,” Guardiola said. After 35 rounds, Barcelona has 86 points, a new Spanish-league record. Madrid, the champion of the past two seasons, is second with 78. Sevilla follows with 63. Barcelona has also reached the final of the Champions League and Copa del Rey and is aiming to become the first Spanish team to win the domestic league and cup double together with Europe's top club competition. Sunday's other results were: Atletico Madrid 3, Espanyol 2; Recreativo Huelva 2, Deportivo La Coruna 1; Malaga 1, Racing Santander 0; Getafe 3, Osasuna 0; Almeria 3, Sporting Gijon 1; and Valladolid 0, Numancia 0. Apart from the injured Thierry Henry and Rafael Marquez, Guardiola picked a full-strength lineup. After Eto'o and Xavi Hernandez had come close, Barcelona took a 12th-minute lead when Keita received Abidal's through ball and fired home. Villarreal leveled 10 minutes later, Llorente clipping the ball home from Giuseppe Rossi's low cross. Eto'o scored Barcelona's second goal in the 36th minute. The goal was the 28th in the league from Eto'o, the top scorer this season. Alves extended the advantage just before halftime with a sweeping free kick from the edge of the area. Substitute Fernandez's penalty was awarded after Abidal fouled another Villarreal substitute, Nihat Kahveci. Abidal's dismissal was his second in four days following his sending off against Chelsea. The Frenchman is now suspended for Wednesday's Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao and the Champions League final against Manchester United on May 27. Iniesta will also miss the cup final after suffering a right thigh muscle tear, Barcelona said on its Web site.
