Five men sentenced to death for crimes including theft, child abduction, rape, and alcohol and drug violations were beheaded Sunday in Madina, the Interior Ministry said in a statement. Four Saudis and one citizen of Chad were convicted of “abducting children and raping them,” in addition to consuming alcohol and drugs and thievery, the statement said. Under the Kingdom's Shariah system, death penalty can be applied for rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking.
