The number of unmarried women above the age of 30 has soared to around 1.5 million, says a report prepared by unofficial social researchers. Statistics from the Ministry of Economy and Planning's demographic survey in 2007 showed Saudi girls at the age of 15 and above who have not been married constitute 32.1 percent of the entire women population while the remaining proportions represented married women, divorced women and widows. Statistics show that there are 100 women for every 102 men in the Kingdom proving that the Saudi society is more balanced than other societies. The Northern Frontier region recorded the highest proportion of unmarried women with 39 percent. Madina recorded the lowest with 28 percent. The number of females supremacy over males in terms of numbers in some regions indicates the possibility of a rising number of unmarried older women in those regions in future. The number of females in Hail amounted to 155,956 for 145,256 males. Al-Baha region recorded the highest number of unmarried and above 15 years women with 42,878 as against 33,565 unmarried males.
