King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, on Sunday received telephone calls from British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. King Abdullah and Prime Minister Brown reviewed the developments at regional and international arenas as well as bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. With President Mubarak, King Abdullah discussed the current situation at Arab and international arenas as well as issues of common interest. Separately, King Abdullah received Lebanese leader Waleed Jumblat. The two discussed the latest political situation in Lebanon. Later the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received Ali Bin Salih Al-Salih, Chairman of the Bahraini Shoura Council and his accompanying delegation. Al-Salih conveyed to the King greetings from the Bahraini ruler. Also on Sunday, the King received Sigrid Kaag, the regional director of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for Mideast and North Africa region. The UN official expressed thanks to the King for the audience and for Saudi support for the organization and reviewed the organization's activities in the region.
