Carlos Tevez pounced late on to earn Manchester United a 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday just when it looked like the Premier League title race had been blasted wide open.
Roque Santa Cruz's 21st minute shot gave Rovers the lead and they were hanging on grimly despite intense United pressure until Argentina forward Tevez swooped to flick in a header with two minutes of normal time left.
Defeat would have left United just two points above a resolute Chelsea side who it faces at Stamford Bridge next week. Thanks to Tevez's crucial touch it is three clear with three games to go and also boast a superior goal difference.
United, which faces Barcelona on Wednesday in its Champions League semifinal, first leg, has 81 points, Chelsea has 78 and Arsenal, which beat Reading 2-0, has 74.
Liverpool is fourth with 69 points after a 2-0 victory at Fulham. Bolton Wanderers won 1-0 at Middlesbrough to move out of the bottom three above Birmingham City. Wigan Athletic drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United beat relegated Derby County 2-1.Bayern lifts cup
A Luca Toni double lifted Bayern Munich to a 2-1 German Cup final success over Borussia Dortmund in front of 73,000 fans at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on Saturday.
This was a final Cup appearance for Bayern talisman Oliver Kahn with the goalkeeper retiring at the end of the season. For him it was a sixth Cup success.Livorno holds Roma

Mathieu Bodmer and Fabio Grosso each scored in the second half Saturday and defending French champion Lyon rallied to win 2-1 at Strasbourg.
The win improved Lyon to 71 points, giving it a seven-point lead over second-place Bordeaux. Nancy is in third place with 56 points.
