Saudi team coach Jose Peseiro said on Saturday that the remaining fixtures of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers are crucial and require a lot of hard work. In a press conference held at Media Center of Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Brazilian coach advised his squad to forget the two consecutive wins over UAE and Iran in their final round of World Cup race. “Let's forget the past and start thinking about the future,” Peseiro said while addressing media representatives. He added, “It is everyone's role to support the national team by all possible means. We need more and more to achieve our only goal – a berth in South Africa Finals.” Coach addressed the media on the sidelines of a training camp in Jeddah for the 23-player squad. Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) is preparing the team ahead of the June 10 away match with South Korea. SAFF has scheduled two preparatory friendlies before Seoul clash as part of the Saudi camp which started in Jeddah last week and concludes in China. The team will face Qatar in Doha on May 26 before it travels to Beijing to play China on June 4. A few weeks after he took over from former Saudi coach Nasser Al-Johar, Peserio led the Saudi team to two precious victories over Iran (2-1) and UAE (3-2) to put the Saudi team in with a chance for automatic qualification. Saudis are now in the third spot in Group B with 10 points, one point ahead of South Korea. North Korea has 10 points while Iran has six and UAE one. Peseiro said that he might try a new squad as the doors are kept wide open for talented stars. “There is a chance for everyone to prove his self and join the team,” he said. The current 23-member squad is without the international players of Al-Hilal, Al-Shabab, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ittifaq who are participating with their teams in the AFC Champions League. “After the end of their first round matches, we will select our final squad,” Peserio added. Earlier on Friday, Saudi team management announced the Saudi team program which consists of five phases. The camp which started in Jeddah last week will last until May 12 before the team shifts to Dammam for another three-day camp. Another two-day camp will be held in Riyadh before the team travels to Doha to play Qatar. On May 30, the final squad will be announced and the team plays China away four days before Seoul clash. __
