A symposium was held last week in Le Meridien Hotel here to celebrate 15th anniversary of Saudi Quality Council. More than 300 delegates attended the session. The event recognized the individual candidates who have made significant contributions to the advancement of quality and professional development in Saudi Arabia during the year 2008. The winners were: 1. Muhammad Asim Baig, Group Business Process Reengineering Manager - Abdullah Fouad Holding & President MEQMP; 2. Abdulaziz Mutairi, AGM/chief performance officer, the Centennial Fund; 3. Ala' Naeem Owaidah, Continuous Improvement & Logistic manager, Savola Packaging Systems. Dr. Ayed T Alari, director - Saudi Quality Counci, Western Region, made an account of SQC journey. The honorary guest was Eng. Nabil Bin Amin Mulla, governor of Saudi Standards and Quality Organization. He appreciated the efforts done by SQC for the last 15 years and announced some new courses in Quality at KAUST. Keynote speaker Prof. Mohamed Zari gave excellent on future of quality and explained the new vision and dimensions of quality. Saudi Quality Council, Western Region has more than 1,500 individual members and more than 2 dozen corporate members. The Council's mission is to advance individual and organizational performance excellence by providing opportunities for learning, quality improvement and knowledge exchange.
