King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is scheduled to patronize on Tuesday the graduation ceremony of 407 doctors, dentists and pharmacists who represent the 12th graduating batch of Saudi Specialist Certificate holders. Dr. Hussein Al-Furaihi, General Secretary of the Saudi Medical Specialty Commission, said that 2,620 students have graduated this year from 33 medical faculties. The commission, Al-Furaihi said, is a scientific body that aims to develop professional performance and improve skills through scientific knowledge, and provides postgraduate medical studies as well as vocational training opportunities for medical college graduates from the Kingdom and abroad. The commission worked for a bylaw to have training centers recognized, and the number of recognized centers in the Kingdom now stand at 67, with others abroad, according to Al-Furaihi. Tuesday's graduation ceremony is being held at the Saudi Medical Specialty Commission's Prince Sultan Hall.
