Bayern Munich team manager Uli Hoeness insisted Thursday the defending Bundesliga champion will not sell midfielder Franck Ribery to Manchester United for $96.8 million. “For $96.8 million, we would not allow Franck Ribery to leave,” Hoeness told German magazine Kicker after reports this week the English giant was set to make a huge bid for the Frenchman. Hoeness insists Bayern has received no offers from European giant Manchester United, Real Madrid or Chelsea for Ribery, who is under contract until 2011. Reports said the offer, which would better the 66 million euros transfer fee paid by Real Madrid for Zinedine Zidane in 2001, would be conditional on the sale of United winger Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, it said. Drogba apologizes Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has apologized for his behavior following his team's elimination from the Champions League by Barcelona. Drogba confronted the referee and swore into a television camera after Wednesday night's semifinal at Stamford Bridge. He received a yellow card and faces possible further sanctions from UEFA. In a statement issued by the club Thursday, Drogba says he overreacted and did not set a good example, especially for children watching on TV.
