Prince Muhammed Bin Nasser, Emir of Jizan, will launch the annual Mango Festival in Sabia on May 13. He has also unveiled a plan for setting up a permanent heritage village in the region to display the region's rich culture. Addressing the weekly session devoted to those from the region who participated in this year's Al-Janadyria National Festival, Prince Muhammed said that some of the information gathered in the past about the region's heritage was inaccurate and misleading, pointing out that the series of heritage festivals in which people from the Jizan region had participated had served to corrected these misconceptions. He said that the Jizan region is rich is tourist attractions with its green valleys, magnificent views, sandy beaches and beautiful islands. Moreover, he said the region held a number of seasonal festivals which drew a large number of visitors, such as, the Hureed, Winter and Mango Festivals. Prince Muhammed also expressed his heartfelt thanks to citizens of the Jizan region who participated in Al- Janadyria National Festival and for the great efforts they made in giving people the real picture of the region.
