Police in Madina freed on Wednesday a young girl whose father reportedly kidnapped her and then threatened to kill her. The man, who police authorities say is mentally ill, took his daughter from his former wife during a legally sanctioned visit to them in Riyadh, and having taken her to Madina he then informed his daughter's school by telephone that he intended to kill her and bury her in a local cemetery. A spokesperson for Madina police said that security authorities arrested the father after locating him through the telephone call to a hotel in the Central Zone near the Prophet's Mosque.
