The National Family Security Program (NFSP) and the Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry held on Tuesday a meeting entitled “The Role of Judiciary and Security Institutions in Combating Domestic Violence.” The vice president of the NFSP, Princess Adila Bint Abdullah, said the meeting would help highlight the effects of violence and its consequences for individuals and society. The NFSP's vision, she said, is based on a conscientious and safe society that protects and defends its members' rights. Meeting director Majid Qaroub focused on the importance of the duties of the judiciary and security bodies in tackling domestic violence, while Hamad Al-Ruzain, a judge from the general court in Jeddah, introduced a paper on the positive effect specialized courts would have on the judicial system. Lawyer Hadi Al-Yami spoke on domestic violence from a legal viewpoint.
