Against the backdrop of the global economic and financial crisis, Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors, the exclusive importer of BMW and MINI in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has achieved a 15 percent growth in sales during the first quarter of 2009 compared to the same period of last year. “To attain any growth in the prevailing economic downturn would have been an achievement, so generating a sales increase of 15 percent compared to the same period last year is absolutely fantastic,” said Anees Jamjoom, managing director of Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors. “The Saudi car market is still healthy, and the BMW and MINI brands have proven time and time again that they have the quality and innovation to continue to attract customers, regardless of external influences. We look forward to continuing this growth and building on this success in the coming quarter.” The top selling model in the Saudi Arabian market was the BMW 7 Series with a 132 percent increase in sales. Other top selling models included the BMW 3 and 5 Series, the popular Sports Activity Vehicle, the BMW X5 and the new Sports Activity Coupe, the BMW X6. Jamjoom added that “this positive start to the year follows the recent arrival of the new 740Li and 750Li models. This is the fifth generation model that succeeds the predecessor model launched eight years ago in 2001.”
