year-old man has had his leg saved from amputation after a consultant general surgeon corrected the reportedly hasty diagnosis of a colleague. The elderly man was taken to hospital in Onaizah suffering from pains in his left leg, and a surgeon declared that it would require immediate amputation from above the knee and sought the man's signature of approval. The man refused to sign the necessary papers and called in his brothers who sought the advice of another surgeon. The second diagnosis said the leg could stay, and could instead be treated with medicine. The man's son has now lodged a complaint with hospital authorities.
