An emergency meeting by the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health to address the spread of swine flu will be held here today. The meeting will discuss the latest developments and WHO reports concerning A/H1N1 (swine flu), and coordinate Arab efforts and precautionary measures to prevent its spread, said Minister of Health Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Rabeah. The Executive Office is made up of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Algeria, Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE. Following the outbreak of A/H1N1 the Saudi Ministry of Health has put in place precautionary measures to prevent its spread by holding an emergency meeting of the National Scientific Committee for Contagious Diseases and sending circulars about the disease to health facilities. Steps have been taken to ensure that sufficient stocks of preventive and curative medicine are available at warehouses around the Kingdom. Passengers arriving from countries hit by A/H1N1 have also been made subject to medical measures to prevent A/H1N1 entering the Kingdom.
