Doctors against whom there are complaints of medical errors will not be allowed to travel abroad till their cases are settled by the Shariah Medical Commission, Dr. Khaled Basin, Madina Health Affairs' Deputy Director for curative medicines, said here on Saturday. Basin said that on the directives of Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Rabeah, Minister of Health, a patient services administration has been set up to receive and evaluate complaints from patients. He said the minister has issued directives to transfer infants in need of nurseries to private hospitals at the expense of the ministry if all public hospital nurseries are occupied. He added that tumor sections have been established in the city's hospitals which have reduced the suffering of those forced to travel to far off localities for treatment. Meanwhile, the minister approved a strategic plan aimed at improving and developing the level of performance at health facilities as part of the ministry's efforts to provide the best possible services to patients and in implementation of the WHO's strategy toward improving the nursing manpower in health establishments.
