Customs officials foiled an attempt by a professional smuggler of alcohol to enter into the Kingdom with 3,000 bottles of whisky which he had hidden in cement blocks. An official said that a truck proceeding from a neighboring Arab country had aroused the suspicions of authorities who found the bottles in the hollow interiors of the cement blocks. Customs also discovered, during the inspection of another vehicle, 24 bottles of alcohol hidden in the insides of a car's four doors. “The owner of the vehicle confessed to the crime,” an official said, “and said the bottles were destined for a friend.”
