Despite the slowdown in the home furnishing business, local producers are preparing for a display of their products and services at the Ideal Home Show, which will be held May 2-8 at the Dhahran International Exhibition Center, along with offers of unprecedented discounts. “Unlike in previous years, we are not expecting a lot of spending. Better products and low but competitive prices could serve to entice visitors who may be persuaded to buy,” said Ramsi Ghusm, marketing director. Over 100 companies are participating in the show, including those coming from China, Syria, Egypt, and Morocco. The show is the largest furnishing trade fair in the Eastern Province and features the launching of products and services of local companies. There will be plenty of bargain offers for products, such as, furniture, carpets, curtains, decoration, interior design, kitchens, kitchen equipment, household equipment, bathrooms and fittings, tableware and crystal arts, crafts, antiques, electrical appliances and accessories, electronics, household appliances, garden furniture and accessories, handicrafts, lighting equipment, chandeliers, landscaping and indoor plants, varnishes and paints, wall coverings, home telecommunications, fire protection systems, swimming pool equipment, air conditioning, and heating equipment. Unlike in previous years, only about 40 percent of visitors are expected to buy new products and services. The rest of the visitors will come for information, and to keep themselves up-to-date with new technology and to make new business contacts.
