Bayern Munich has fired Juergen Klinsmann as coach. Klinsmann, who coached Germany at the 2006 World Cup, was told Monday by club officials that he was dismissed with immediate effect. Bayern said in a statement that Jupp Heynckes will take over until the end of the season. Klinsmann came under intense pressure recently due to the team's poor form, including a 4-0 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League. That pressure intensified after Bayern lost 1-0 at home to Schalke on Saturday, leaving the defending champions in third place. Klinsmann's assistants, Martin Vasquez and Nich Theslof, will also leave Bayern.
