After years of struggling with infertility, an Egyptian woman found a way to build a family quickly by delivering premature quadruplets at a private hospital in Makkah Monday. The woman, who was admitted to the hospital when she was eight months pregnant, underwent a C-section operation, said Juma'a Khayat, director of Public Relations at Alwi Tunsi Hospital. The babies experienced difficulty in breathing upon delivery and are still in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Each baby weighs around 1.6 kg and they are all in stable condition. The couple has been married for three years and has received infertility counseling and treatment. The mother appeared healthy and happy in her hospital bed. The father was overwhelmed by the joyful surprise. “It is hard to feed four babies, but Allah will help us bring them up well,” he said.
