Adel Abdullah Ka'aki who was recently elected chairman of the Board of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the fourth time in a row has stepped down for what he said are “absolutely private and business reasons.” He said, however, that he was prepared to serve as a regular member of the board. Ka'aki had served as chairman of the MCCI for three terms. He said he would use his experience and expertise to assist the organization while out of office. During his previous terms, Ka'aki helped create the women's business center called the Fatmia Al-Zahra Center. Ka'aki won the recently held MCCI election with 459 votes, 172 votes ahead of his closest competitor.
