year-old Saudi father stabbed his 25-year-old son to death in Al-Mansour District in Makkah, Monday morning. Makkah police received calls from the family asking them to come to the scene of the crime where the father had killed his son by stabbing him in the chest. “We received calls from the family asking us to come immediately,” said Abdulmohsen Al-Maiman, spokesman of Makkah Police. “After we arrived at the house, we found the victim lying on the floor and his father standing next to him waiting for us,” added Al-Maiman. The cause of the crime is still uncertain, and will not be known until the police finish investigations with the father, and the victim's mother and sisters. “We arrested the criminal (father) who claimed that he killed his son because he was causing problems for the family,” added Al-Maiman. “There were many problems between the father and son in the days before the murder and the son had threatened to burn down the house.” “My son threatened to set fire to the house on several occasions. This made me nervous and afraid. It was then that I decided to kill him,” Al-Maiman quoted the father as saying. The father woke up early in the morning before his son got home. Fearing that his son would set the house on fire, he took a knife and waited at the front door for his son to arrive. Regarding the possibility that the father is suffering from a psychological disease, Al-Maiman said, “As of yet, we have no further information. The crime is still under investigation.”
