man committee armed with over 3000 photographs and 200 video recordings intends to sue the Taif Municipality and the cleaning company responsible for what they claim are the poor sanitary conditions of Taif. The committee says the photographs and videos provide ample evidence of the poor state of hygiene in the city with images of garbage and stagnant water surfaces in the streets. The committee is now seeking 3,000 signatures from local residents to back their case in court, claiming that locals are fearful of a spread of dengue fever. “We've taken this action because the municipality didn't respond to public requests and because it has failed to carry out its duties as defined by law,” said Badr Al-Shaibani, a committee member. An official from Taif Municipality refused to comment on the move and said that a private company was responsible for maintaining sanitary conditions. “The municipality is closely monitoring the company's works,” the official said.
