Shabab paved its way to the semifinals of the King's Cup for champions following a 2-1 win over Al-Wehdah at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh on Saturday. Striker Yousif Al-Salem was the man of the match as he scored a brace for the home side while Ahmed Al-Mosa scored a late goal for Al-Wehdah. On Friday, Al-Hazm became the first team to make the last four after a 2-2 draw with Ahli Jeddah at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium. Al-Hazm and Al-Ahli, however, played for a 1-1 draw in their first leg match in Al-Rass last week. Defending champion Al-Shabab entered the game with full confidence as the team won the first leg match 5-2 in Makkah. Al-Salem waited only 19 minutes before he put Al-Shabab ahead as he completed Nassir Al-Shamrani's short pass into the right side of Assaf Al-Qarni. It seemed that the first leg victory reduced the fervor of the match especially for Al-Shabab which opted to start the match without some of the key players. Four minutes before the break, Al-Salem doubled the lead through a same scenario but this time Abdo Atif was the provider. The second half witnessed no real threat from the two sides as Al-Shabab coach changed some of his players after he guaranteed the semifinal ticket. Two minutes from the final whistle, Ahmed Al-Mosa reduced the margin with a short range shot to the right side of Al-Shabab goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah. On Sunday, the quarterfinals round concludes with two matches as Al-Hilal hosts its city rival Al-Nasr at the King Fahd International Stadium while Al-Ittihad takes on Dammam's Al-Ittifaq at the Prince Abdullah Al
