Centrepoint has launched on April 15 the “Centrepoint Millionaire” campaign to celebrate the renaming process of City Plaza to what is known now as Centrepoint. Its aim is to further strengthen Centrepoint' commitment to its growing number of loyal consumer base. During the promotion period that will end on May 15, Centrepoint customers have the chance to win SR1 million in cash just by visiting a Centrepoint store. The only requirement is to answer a simple question and fill in a form. There is no purchase required in order to participate. Neelesh Bhatnagar, head of Saudi Operations, Al Bandar Group, said this is first-event-of-its-kind ever to be held in the Kingdom. An event of this nature will undoubtedly further enhance the relationship that exists between the consumer and the Centrepoint brand and increase its brand equity in the Kingdom. Centrepoint is one of the largest retail chains in Saudi Arabia, attracting over eight million customers every year. Located at over 38 locations throughout the Kingdom, the last 8 months have seen a transformation in name and appearance from the original City Plaza stores. City Plaza has been synonymous with retail in the Kingdom since it's inception in 1995 and Centrepoint is aimed at continuing this trend. City Plaza's values have been carried forward into the new Centrepoint stores, in giving customers what they want – a wide variety of merchandise offering exceptional value for money in an international shopping ambiance. In essence nothing has changed, except the name. The same great service, the same great shopping experience and the same great value systems will still be the order of the day. Centrepoint has existed in the rest of the GCC and the Levant for the last five years. The name change has taken place throughout the Kingdom in order to ensure international brand consistency. Centrepoint now has 53 stores across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan. Centrepoint will shortly launch in Egypt as well. Plans are afoot to open over 100 stores across all these countries by 2011.
