Zaidan of the Human Resources Fund (HRF) in the Eastern Province has revealed plans for a “Job Continuation” scheme aimed at discouraging Saudis from leaving positions financed by the HRF. The program will offer Saudis incentives such as salary bonuses plus further training in their skills should they complete six months in their positions. After two years of employment in the same post, an additional bonus equivalent to an extra two months' salary is awarded in addition to further training courses. Al-Zaidan said the program, which will be put into effect in the near future, comes in response to increased numbers of young Saudis abandoning their positions when their contracts come up for renewal. The HRF has also signed contracts with 106 companies to find appointments for 3,900 Saudi job seekers, and has opened an office in Jubail to explore job opportunities for youth in the Industrial City, a hub for many businesses and companies. The HRF currently finances 13 programs addressing work training, direct employment, and distance working programs, besides another program supporting owners of cottage industries and human resources specialists.
