The Faculty of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University is organizing a 3-day international conference on the concerns of women's health issues and problems under the theme “Women's health over the years.” The conference, to be held under the patronage of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah Region, starting Tuesday would discuss all modern research and studies on women's health and identification of the latest developments. Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be a co-sponsor of the conference. “Prominent physicians specializing in women's health in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and the Mideast will be attending the conference,” said Dr. Hassan Saleh Jamal, the member of the organizing committee. Representatives from World Health Organization, international and local universities will highlight the most important issues in the medical arena. “Women constitute half of society and any ill health means a complete failure of the family,” Jamal said. “The level of health care for women in particular and the Gulf Arab region in general still needs to provide more high quality health services with regard to women's health with the progress of work and increasing the proportion of diseases that affect their health,” he said. “The conference aims to provide clinical data, the latest developments in the field of clinical information for women of all ages,” he said The issues and problems of women and the risk in life with age such as cardiovascular diseases and the incidence of tumors, anemia and hormone replacement, osteoporoses, diabetes, breast cancer, skin diseases, post-natal depression, back pain, rheumatism, obesity, stomach and gall bladder diseases will be the leading topics to be discussed. A number of workshops will be held with the coordination of Dr. Hassan Nusrat, president of the conference's organizing committee, and Dr. Amal Saleh Shobokshi, a member of the organizing committee.
