The Shoura Council will vote next week on a reduction in recruitment fees for foreign housemaids. Shoura members Muhammad Al-Qwaihs and Abdullah Al-Dosari proposed Sunday that the visa fees for recruitment of foreign housemaids be reduced from SR2,000 for the first visa to SR500 – with incremental increases of SR500 for the second, third and fourth visas. Hassan Al-Shehri, Chairman of the Shoura's Financial Affairs Committee who presented the proposal, also sought a reduction in the work license fee to SR100 for the first visa, SR200 for second, SR300 for the third, and SR500 for the fourth.
