Nearly 400 real estate assessors, including a woman and a handicapped man, will take the oath of the profession after finishing an assessment training session. By successfully completing the training program, they have become real estate assessors licensed by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), said the deputy chairman of the real estate committee at JCCI. The training was supervised by the JCCI and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation. The field of real estate assessment has attracted academic interest with King Saud University asking for the creation of a new college tasked with real estate assessment studies. The Arab Academy has also approached the JCCI to help set up specialized training programs in the field. “We are very confident of a future boom in the real estate market in the Kingdom, especially with an annual population increase of 3.5 percent,” the deputy chairman of the committee said. The Kingdom's need for residential units is estimated at 160,000 a year at a total cost of SR72 billion.
