Over 200 businessmen, investors and experts from 500 national and international companies are participating in the Decoration and Furniture Expo that kicked off here on Sunday. The expo, inaugurated by Ibrahim Katbkhana, undersecretary of Jeddah Governorate for building and reconstruction projects, is being organized by the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events. It showcases the latest home appliances, equipment, and other housing materials, such as, machinery, construction materials, electric power equipment, accessories, safety equipment, industrial safety and fire control equipment, climate control devices, water purification and waste treatment equipment, lighting, and interior design materials. This global event reflects Jeddah's position on the map of global conferences and forums which make Jeddah an attractive city for specialized companies. “This year's expo has about 20 percent additional space. It is primarily because of the increase in the number of participating Saudi and international companies. This emphasizes the confidence the expo has generated among international companies,” said Waleed Waked, executive manager of Al-Harthi Company for Events and Forums, the organizer of the expo. The five-day exhibition will be combined with a forum organized by the Council of Al-Jawda in which a number of experts and speakers will discuss several issues related to building and decoration.
