day first international forum for volunteer work began in Abha on Saturday. The forum, organized under the patronage of Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Assir region, aims to grow the meaning of voluntary work and social responsibility in the Saudi society. “The forum's focus is on charity organizations which make us hope for building a bridge that can transfer the international experiences in the volunteer work to specialists in the Kingdom,” said Princess Al-Bandari Bint Abdurrahman Al-Faisal, Director General of King Khalid charity organization. Under the theme of “the third sector” the forum will start its workshop on Monday with well-known personalities in attendance. They include Mahathir Mohammad, former Malaysian prime minister, Sheikh Saleh Al-Hussain, the head of the Prophet's Mosque Affairs, Dr. Hari Hiyon-le, secretary general Korean volunteer work council, Dr. Sa'ad Mariq, Shoura Council member and General Ali Al-Harthi Director General of Prisons in the Kingdom.
