The sister of Brigadier General Carlos Clet is still in disbelief over the sudden death of his brother, who was one of the eight people on board the ill-fated presidential chopper that crashed Tuesday in the Cordillera mountains. “Parang nananaginip pa rin kami [It's like we are still in a dream],” said his sister who was identified in an interview with radio dzRB only as Mrs. Clet-Salagubang. Salagubang said the Clet family was informed about his brother's death shortly before midnight Wednesday. Clet's sister did not have any ill-feeling toward the government following the incident, stressing that her brother died in the line of duty. “Hindi po namin mapipigilan kung ano po yung ngayari sa kanila. Talagang siguro Diyos na po talaga [We could not prevent what happened to them. Maybe it's God's will],” she said. Clet, 51, was President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's senior military aide. He was part of the eight-man team heading for Banaue, Ifugao ahead of Arroyo's scheduled Wednesday visit when the tragedy struck in bad weather in a thickly forested area within the boundaries of Ifugao and Benguet provinces.
