More than 500 local and international companies will take part in a five-day decoration and furniture expo at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events starting on Sunday, April 12. A large number of specialists in decoration and interior design will attend the expo which will highlight the latest developments in the field. “This will be the 18th time that we have held this exhibition, but this year's expo will be different from all the others because of the huge increase in the participation of international companies,” said Waleed Waked, executive manager of Al-Harthi Company for Events and Forums. “We have sent invitations to most Arabic and European countries and we expect participation from many Asian countries as well,” he said, pointing out that “companies were expected to send representatives from countries, such as, Bahrain, China, Morocco, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Iran, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and the United States, in addition to a wide range of leading Saudi companies representing all sectors of the industry.” The exhibition will feature housing materials, such as, machinery, construction materials, electric power equipment, accessories, safety equipment, industrial safety and fire control equipment, climate control devices, water purification and waste treatment equipment, and lighting and interior design materials. There is a need for more marketing and promotion, in decoration and housing sectors. “The role of the exhibition is to support the national development by promoting the use of decorations and materials in schools, health facilities, and tourist and entertainment sites,” added Waked. Ninety percent of Saudi companies benefited from the last decoration expo by signing contracts for a large number of investments projects, said Waked.
