Shawly Bowlers team, captained by Arnel Bautista, showed their might in two successive weeks cornering the coveted City Restaurant Team of the Week in convincing collective scores of 2,967 in the 7th week and record-setting team aggregate of 3,121 in the 8th session of the FEDBG-FMBL 7th conference at the Bowling City here.
Against the Luvenor-3 from whom it won the match at 18-2, Shawly Bowlers team was primarily served by Ruel Perez and Bautista whose tandem with 1,203 emerged superior over Luvenor's bets Rey Beltran and TC Joel Nidoy who could only shield 1,157. Nards Hassan tried to help with 536 but Shawly's Sally Sanosa planked Perez and Bautista with her Kanny Powder Milk lady Bowler of the Week honor-wining score of 592.
As Shawly enabled to clout the three main pillars of their rivals, support squad Max Salang, Edison Arena and Nestor Sanosa pinned down their counterpart with their above average shares. This match was signed at 2,967-2,863 with Salang scratching high game at 243 for winner Shawly while Nidoy marking 216 for loser Luvenor.
Sally bolstered Shawly Bowlers with her games of 168, 222 and 202. Winning the male Kanny Bowler of the Week was Mohannad Sahel who scored 639 in leading Blue Shark team. Mohannad toppled games of 167, 257 and 215 to be awarded of Kanny Powder Milk by Nesma marketing executive Rey del Rosario. Bowlers of the Week also received gift certificate from Shawly Restaurant, courtesy of operation supervisor Manny Palo.
Having their momentum at peak, Shawly Bowlers continued to sear lanes in the 8th week. Against a bye, Cloyd Opena, Edison Arena and Andy David recorded a hi-total for 3 players at 1,914 with respective scorching of 650, 637 and 627. Opena readily exploded with 258 followed by 185 then capped with 207. Arena served Shawly with 217, 212 and 208 while David had 199, 232 and 196. Sally Sanosa outdid her last week's performance at 597 with 215 hi-game. With fair shares from Luis Pacobas and Fully Tabio, Shawly set a new record for team hi-series with handicap at 3,121 and maintained striking distance to the top 4 cut off at number six of the overall team standings.
Kanny Powder Milk Bowlers of the Week this session were Aisah Silabay and Yousuf Johani. Silabay totaled 646 (210, 208, 228) in leading Micah's Pride on its swept match against Luvenor-3 while Johani sizzled 729 (279, 172, 278) for Blue Shark which humbled Pinoy Dream Bowlers at 16-4.
