Choosing the right type of paints and not only the color will save money on high cost of frequent maintenance, an industry executive said on Tuesday. In a press conference held by Jotun Paints to introduce its new product Jotashield SuperDurable - a low volatile organic compound (VOC) coating based on a special hybrid silicone binder offering 20 years protection, company regional specification manager Nirv Naik raised the importance of paints in saving both the environment and economy. He said Jotun's new paint is formulated to provide superior durability. It has anti-concrete carbonation properties and low chemical reactivity, enabling it to offer superior concrete protection and help reduce maintenance costs. “The new product is not brought to the customers just because we thought they need it,” said Naik. “We have been studying the product for three years. Customers are looking for top quality/high performance paint products, which address protective and decorative requirements of their projects.”
