The Cabinet on Monday authorized the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior or his deputy to discuss with the Portuguese and Swedish sides a draft bilateral cooperation agreement in the field of fighting crime. King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, presided over the Cabinet meeting. Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Khojah, Minister of Culture and Information, said after the meeting that the Cabinet also stressed on the importance of the international conference for nano industries which opened in Riyadh on Sunday. The Cabinet stressed the importance of this technology in the industry of the future as a development and economic resource and a source of income diversification and provision of more quality job opportunities for the youth. The Cabinet expressed hope that the nanotechnology, enjoying the full support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, will achieve esteemed scientific achievements for the Kingdom in world forums. The Cabinet decided that the provision of housing facilities for government departments participating in Haj at the headquarters of their location in Makkah and holy sites does not affect the relocation and travel allowance they receive provided that this will not entail renting buildings for the purpose of housing them during the Haj season or increasing the costs of approved catering contracts. The government departments participating in Haj may distribute their catering according to the Royal Order No. 6,019. It also approved some appointments at grade 14.
